Celebrate The West Art Competition

The Western Governors' Association is proud to announce "Celebrate the West", a regional art competition that challenges high school students to create works inspired by their state. Entrants from WGA member states will create original two-dimensional artwork inspired by their state or informed by living in the West. Students may draw ideas from a variety of sources, including state history, landmarks, natural resources, National Parks and Monuments, people, communities, and culture. The application deadline is April 30, and the maximum awards amount is $1,200.



Eligibility:

    - The competition is open to high school students (Grades 9-12) in public, private, charter, and alternative schools.

    - Home-schooled students in that age group also may enter. Students must be in a school in a WGA member state: Alaska,
    - American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
