Jain Foundation LGMD Awareness Merit-Based Scholarship
The LGMD Awareness Scholarship was designed to reward students who teach others about Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophies, often referred to as LGMDs. The Jain Foundation is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to cure muscular dystrophies caused by dysferlin protein deficiency, which includes the clinical presentations Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B (LGMD2B) and Miyoshi muscular dystrophy 1 (MMD1). The application deadline is May 25.
Eligibility:
-Current or former high school/college students
-Between the ages of 17 and 30
-Enrolled or will be enrolled in some form of higher education (including two-year colleges, four-year colleges/universities, graduate schools, law schools, medical schools and vocational schools) at an accredited U.S. institution
